Both singleness and marriage are a loss to us if they do not increase our knowledge of Jesus Christ.
You are planted in the soil of singleness. If you refuse to grow here up into a greater knowledge of God, then you have wasted this fertile soil which has eternal purpose for you. "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ..." Philippians 3:8
The very reason we are on this earth is that we might have a relationship with our Creator and grow in our knowledge of Him. God wisely allows circumstances into our lives that give us opportunities to grow in our knowledge of Him and develop a closer communion with Him. If we live out years of singleness and don't grow through it into a deeper knowing of our God, then singleness has been a loss to us. If we live out years of marriage and don't grow through it into a deeper knowing of our God, then marriage has been a loss to us.
I believe everything that happens to us in this life is meant to grow us in our knowledge of Christ. Every single moment is an opportunity to either learn more about this God we serve and fall deeper in love with Him, or to just stay where we are and grow stagnant. Knowing Christ is better than anything you could possibly think of. But it won't seem that way if you don't truly know Him. The more you grow in your knowledge of Christ, the more wonderful and sufficient He becomes to you, and the less the things of this earth attract you.
Sister, embrace whatever state you find yourself in as your opportunity to get to know your loving God better. Maybe He has you single right now because He knows this is what you need to be able to know Him more deeply. Maybe He has you single right now so that you can learn of Him without distraction. Don't waste the opportunity!"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto you souls." Matthew 11:29
